The data partnerships team at WMDE works with different institutions to help them make their knowledge open and accessible to everyone. Our collaborations are centered around Wikidata and Wikibase projects. Wikidata is a free knowledge base containing general purpose data about the world. Wikibase is an open source and collaborative software that powers Wikidata and many external projects. Our session gives an introduction to our partnerships model at WMDE, showcases examples of the work we do with institutions to build the commons, and provides an overview of our future goals and challenges.
