Although its importance, many challenges remain when promoting OPEN GLAM projects in Latam, even within public institutions that hold cultural assets of general interest.
This presentation highlights the most recurrent arguments (lack of technical and human resources, fear of losing audiences, the eventual disappearance of GLAM institutions due to open access policies) used by cultural institutions to limit their participation in the OPEN GLAM projects like those from Wikimedia.
The objective is to seek new strategies to address these local challenges from a global perspective.
