Through this workshop we open up a wider discussion on how open access can catalyze creative and critical readings of GLAM collections, particularly in the Indian context, making room for under-represented narratives. Using images from DAG’s collection of modern Indian art that have been released into the Creative Commons (in 2020, DAG’s museum initiative became the first in India to do so), this workshop & discussion led jointly with Amra Odbhut, a queer collective based in Kolkata, encourages participants to re-imagine established gender binaries through collage & zine -making.
