Public domain material (including material made available under a PDM or CC0) can be used by anyone for any purpose without any restrictions. However, many GLAMs wish to get credit or at least a mention when items from the collections they released into the public domain are used. While attribution is not a legal requirement, best practices are emerging where attribution of the GLAM hosting the physical work is strongly encouraged. What are these best practices and how can we develop an attribution (legal and/or technical) standard for the GLAM sector?
