In this talk, we report about our successful efforts to achieve meaningful protections for public domain and CC-licensed content in the German implementation of the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. Under this law, platforms will be obliged to prevent the repeated blocking of public domain or openly licensed content. (TBC: We will also present first results of our efforts to encourage platforms to share information on public domain and openly licensed works to better protect them from wrongful blocking requests).
