Open Schooling and Homeschooling are established systems that were massively adopted at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. In what this research calls the alternative school, two things have increased the potential effectiveness and quality when adopted and these are digital technology and open education resources (OER). However, widespread adoption does not mean effective and qualitative use or delivery. A roadmap for adoption of the alternative school for quality is provided.
