Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums, and other heritage institutions have become more interested in sharing their collections online using open licenses, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the inability to access the physical space of cultural institutions. It's also inspired by the research done in "Lessons we learned from cultural institutions and libraries that went open access in 2020-2021", by the Wikimedia Foundation GLAM & Culture team.
